How to get to the citadel
Easy access to La Citadelle! We recommend that you take the GINKO CITADELLE bus line from Parking Chamars (downtown).

Follow the Citadelle signs from downtown. Pay parking Citadelle (€0.70/hour, max €7/day).
Free parking at La Rodia, access to Citadelle on foot or by bus from downtown (April to October).
From April to October: we recommend parking in the Chamars parking lot, then taking the bus (free counterfoil given at the Citadelle entrance with your parking ticket for Besançon Pass Tourisme holders), as the Citadelle parking lot quickly sells out in high season.
Nice walks to access the site and take full advantage of the panoramic views over the old town and the loop of the Doubs that surrounds Besançon.
Allow around 30 minutes. The route includes some stairways, so bring comfortable shoes.
