Once again this year, the Citadelle is taking part in European Museum Night, opening its doors free of charge at dusk. Thanks to guest artists and the conservation and mediation teams, visitors can discover the Musée comtois, the Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation and the Muséum in a whole new way. Participants can also enjoy an exceptional view of Besançon illuminated.

The Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation (Resistance and Deportation Museum) houses an exceptional collection of deported art, mainly drawings produced clandestinely in Reich camps and prisons. Over 600 works have been assembled, making it one of the finest collections in Europe.

They've been living with us for thousands of years. They share our daily lives, our living spaces. The many species with feathers, fur, antennae and scales live close to us, but often escape our attention. The suspended listening station takes you on a journey to listen, hear and perceive the abundance of life forms that express themselves in so many different ways. You'll leave the ground temporarily in suspended structures and sail through this interlude to the sound pieces inspired by natural elements and composed by Brane Project.

With family or friends, come and enjoy a moment of suspended animation around objects from the collections that will bring back your fondest memories of conviviality and sharing! The museum team invites you to enjoy a playful interlude around recent acquisitions and board games (traditional, surprising or revisited). The most inspired will be able to mingle their memories and childhood lullabies with the participative sound installation proposed by the Berceurs du Temps.

An encounter with the little-known treasures of the Besançon Natural History Museum, in the company of the team responsible for conserving the collections. Did you know that the legend of the unicorn came from a narwhal's tooth? That chimeras could be made from real animals? Have you ever heard of "lepidochromy", the delicate art of transferring butterfly wings? Open your child's eyes and discover the riches of nature!
Discovery tour "Draw me your planet"
If the Little Prince landed on Earth today, how would he see our world? Join an interpreter from the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle on a tour of several stages of the exhibition. Along the way, you'll come across a giant boa, Saint-Exupéry's plane, the forgotten boots of a giant gardener and the astonishing skeleton of a chimera. Come and learn and dream with us, and discover with your eyes - and your heart - the beauty of our animal and plant biodiversity.
