*Little Miss Sunshine* by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, written by Michael Arndt, starring Abigail Breslin, Greg Kinnear, and Paul Dano – Comedy, Drama

The story of the Hoovers. The father, Richard, is desperately trying to sell his “9-Step Path to Success.” The mother, Sheryl, is trying to cover up the shortcomings of her brother, a suicidal Proust expert who was just released from the hospital after being dumped by his lover.

The Hoover children aren't without their own far-fetched dreams either: the 7-year-old daughter, Olive, dreams of becoming a beauty queen, while her brother Dwayne has vowed to remain silent until he enters the Air Force Academy.

When Olive lands an invitation to compete for the highly exclusive title of Little Miss Sunshine in California, the whole family decides to rally behind her. So there they are, crammed into their rusty Volkswagen station wagon: they head west and embark on a three-day tragicomic journey that will pit them against a series of unexpected events…
