Once again this year, the Citadelle is taking part in European Museum Night, opening its doors free of charge at dusk. Thanks to guest artists and the conservation and mediation teams, visitors can discover the Musée comtois, the Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation and the Muséum in a whole new way. Participants can also enjoy an exceptional view of Besançon illuminated.
From the attic to the museum, new acquisitions 2024
Every year, numerous donors entrust the museum with objects and family archives. Through them, a human history of the Second World War is revealed. Come and preview some of these latest acquisitions on Museum Night!

The deportation art collection, An exceptional treasure
The Musée de la Résistance et de la Déportation (Resistance and Deportation Museum) houses an exceptional collection of deported art, mainly drawings produced clandestinely in Reich camps and prisons. Over 600 works have been assembled, making it one of the finest collections in Europe.
