This summer, music will fill the air within the walls of the Cité Vauban in the heart of Saint Étienne Park. The Citadel of Besançon is hosting three evening concerts on July 10, 11, and 12 as part of its summer program.
David Krakauer
A virtuoso clarinetist, David Krakauer is one of the most iconic and talented figures in new Klezmer music today. He reinvents it with influences from funk, jazz, hip hop, and electronic music. Krakauer has a unique ability to tell moving stories through his music, while bringing Klezmer culture to life. You will be swept away by the unbridled sound of his clarinet, with which he pushes the boundaries, accompanied by his group of musicians bursting with joy and energy. An evening to fill up on good vibes!

Exirium Brass
Thirteen musicians, collective rhythms, wind section, high notes and deep bass, intoxicating claps, catchy gimmicks, choir singing and rap lead. Exirium Brass navigates with fanfare from Lagos to New Orleans, via the Caribbean and Nigeria, the Besançon team remains anchored in the idea of sharing. Jazz, Afrobeat, funk, rap, and modern hip-hop... they play it all!
Important Information
- Following a prefectural decree, Rue des Fusillés will be closed to traffic from 7:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on the evenings of July 10 to July 12, 2025 (except for people with reduced mobility and buses).
- Ginko bus lines (every 35 minutes) will run from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. (last departure from the Citadel).
- Only bottles without caps, empty water bottles smaller than 70 ml, and no alcohol will be accepted.
- A refreshment bar will be available throughout the evening for drinks and snacks. The refreshment bar will close at 12:30 a.m.
- People with reduced mobility are invited to contact us by email atcontact@citadelle.besancon.frso that we can best organize their arrival and departure from the site.
- Event accessible with the culture pass
- Doors open at 7:30 p.m., concerts start at 8 p.m.
- Cancellation in case of rain.
- Online ticket sales close at 6:30 p.m. on the day of the event, and tickets will be available at the box office starting at 7:30 p.m., subject to availability.
