Overview:

Good news: the Panorama Sonore festival is back on July 9 & 10, 2026, for a new edition that’s already shaping up to be a memorable one! Two unique evenings in the heart of Parc Saint-Étienne, with a breathtaking view of Besançon… and a lineup that’s sure to get you moving.

The schedule

THE LIMIÑANAS

“Can I have your autograph?” he said to the plump blonde actress. “You know, I know everything you’ve done,” sings Doug Yule on the Velvet Underground’s “New Age.” Love and violence toward an actress who has spanned decades, a star considered faded

That is the story told by Limiñanas’ new album, which once again puts so-called fallen stars in the spotlight. To the forgotten women who, from the 1950s to the present day, have vanished from the screen as if by some cruel spell, condemned by the passage of time. Avid film buffs, aware that the sordid truth is revealed when you scratch beneath the surface of Hollywood glamour, Lionel and Marie Limiñana wanted to pay tribute to them here.

Without being overtly political, and featuring a hybrid narrative that blends (nightmare-like) daydreams with tender metaphors, *Faded* reads like a rich soundtrack to a little-known story, featuring a host of contributors: Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream, Bertrand Belin, Rover, Anna Jean of Juniore, Penny, Jon Spencer… Each will offer their own take on the Faded narrative, and this is how the album becomes “an Italian-style patchwork,” as the Limiñanas put it, where artists admired by Lionel and Marie are invited to express themselves fully. Enough to create a work that echoes (and contrasts with) the famous “Mignonne, allons voir si la rose,” in which Ronsard wrote, aware of ageism long before its time: “ Gather, gather your youth / For just as old age withers this flower / So it will dim your beauty.”

GRINDING WHEEL

A curious feeling—a mix of urgency and jubilation—is what grips us from the very first seconds of *Dare*, the new album by the Tours-based trio Meule.
Meule is, first and foremost, a formula: Valentin Pedler’s guitar and synths engage in a frenzied dialogue with not one, but two drum kits played by Marine Flèche and Dorris Biayenda. “With two drum kits, we can really play with the dynamics—it’s much more powerful. There’s also all the polyrhythm of two human beings in octopus mode
behind their drums, and almost infinite possibilities! It’s a face-off between the synthetic on one side and the human on the other. ” With almost no introduction, we’re plunged into a joyful, mind-blowing sonic extravaganza that doesn’t let up throughout the album’s eleven tracks.

Drawing inspiration from the psychedelic garage rock of Osees and King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard—the trio’s ultimate influence—Meule has expanded its sound to include more electro and techno elements, as well as occasional pop and melodic touches, as heard on “Entre deux,” where Marine’s vocals reflect on relationships in the age of screens. A track where Meule aims to bring a touch of softness to the vigor of rock.

BYSSHE

Formed in 2015 on the high plateau of Les Fourgs, Bysshe—named in homage to the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley—blends poetry and psychedelic rock into a strange, folkloric world. The band released its debut album , *Clouds*, in June 2018. A second album, Forever in the Eye of Change, was released in October 2020 on the M&O Music label. A third album, also on M&O and recorded during the winter of 2023–2024, titled La Sybille sur le Sable, found its way to your turntables in September 2024.
