Overview:

The Grand Siècle Weekend: Women's Stories

Every year, the Grand Siècle Weekend invites you to step back in time to the17th and 18th centuries. In 2026, the spotlight will be on women and their stories: from the humble tavern keeper to the Governor’s wife, discover their lifestyles, their occupations, and their roles based on their place in society, and meet the women whose lives intersected with that of the citadel.

On the program: Enjoy readings and theatrical performances, as well as demonstrations highlighting women’s work, using the textile industry as an example. You can also try your hand at fencing or dance… Activities focused on motherhood and fashion will also be available: can you swaddle a baby, prepare a bottle, or place your fly in just the right spot to send a message?

In partnership with: La Lune d’Ambre theater company, ART’made theater company, Théâtre Envie theater company, the Mala’ka association, the Ad Honores association, L’M’ Filer, and Lycée Pasteur Mont-Roland in Dole.
