The theme chosen this year by the French Ministry of Culture is "Living Heritage". With its three museums in France, its UNESCO World Heritage monument and its year-round events, the Besançon Citadel is a good illustration of this.

To mark its reopening, the museum's first temporary exhibition, "Autour de la table: histoires en partage" (Around the table: shared stories), invites you to enter into the intimate world of encounters and exchanges with its donors. It's an opportunity to step behind the scenes, and discover a history that's still very much alive, almost 80 years after the end of the Second World War.
