The Citadel of Besançon is one of eight sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. This makes our region the second-richest in terms of World Heritage sites, after Occitanie. It’s the perfect way to appreciate the full cultural, natural, and historical diversity of our region, while fostering a commitment to heritage preservation.
